The national ANS Student Sections Committee has asked us to forward an excellent opportunity to see the policy side of nuclear science. After all, science is only useful when it is communicated! (Also, consider checking out the rosters from previous years—you might see some names of folks in some pretty important places.)
The Nuclear Engineering Student Delegation (NESD) is a unique opportunity for students to represent the voice of today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders in the nuclear industry. Each year, a diverse group of students heads to Washington, D.C., to engage directly with policymakers on issues facing nuclear energy, policy, education, and research.
Traditionally composed of nuclear engineering students, the Delegation now includes students from a variety of disciplines, such as non-health physics, national security, economics, and public policy. If you are passionate about nuclear science and its impact on society, this is an opportunity to have your voice heard and make a difference.
