End of Term announcements!

Hello ANS Members!

I hope you all have survived finals and are looking forward to a well-deserved break! We have a few important end-of-term announcements and opportunities for you to get involved with our club:

1. Membership Poll

Every year, we need to report the breakdown of our student membership between graduate and undergraduate students to the national level of our organization. Please take a moment to fill out this Google Poll to help us gather the necessary information.

2. Officer Nominations

Wednesday is the last day to submit your nomination if you are interested in running for an officer position for our ANS chapter. We encourage all students to consider this opportunity to build leadership skills and enhance their resumes. Nominees must be students for the full term (May 2025 - April 2026) and, if elected, must become full members of the national organization at www.ans.org.

If you'd like to run for a position, please fill out the Nomination Form (the second Google form link below, just your name and a short description of why you'd like to run) by April 30th. Feel free to forward this announcement to any colleagues who may be interested. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out at our student section email: anssc.u@gmail.com.

3. Summer Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for highly motivated students to volunteer for an exciting outreach opportunity to engage and inspire high school students in the field of nuclear science and engineering as part of the STEM summer camp program hosted by our university. Help us inspire future scientists, engineers, explorers, and enthusiasts of our nuclear industry.

We will host two groups of high school students in our lab space, and we need a few volunteers to facilitate the activity, which involves assembling cloud chamber kits. The dates are June 18th and July 9th. Each session will involve teams of 4-5 students and will take place in one of the classrooms connected to our lab.
