Join OA for some introductory canyoneering in the beautiful sandstone canyons of Southern Utah. North Wash is the home to some of the most beautiful, exciting canyons in the state. This trip includes deep, twisting narrows, multiple rappels, and some thrilling downclimbs. Trip cost covers gear, instruction, transportation, and equipment. Participants should be comfortable with heights and able to hike 5 miles. Our trips are designed to give participants the building blocks to further their knowledge and skills to apply it on their own adventures.
This is a front-country trip: Our front-country trips are perfect for participants who are new to recreating in the outdoors. Participants will sleep in tents with easy access to our vehicles. Most of our front-country trips camp in established campgrounds with pit-toilets but with limited access to running water. Trip leaders will teach participants how to dispose of waste properly by following Leave No Trace ethics.
What's Included in the Trip Fee: Canyoneering gear, camping gear, transportation, all meals while at camp (participants will be responsible for meals during transportation), Trip Leader instruction, and other activity-specific gear (excludes personal clothing).
This trip is rated Class 2: Moderate, meaning it is appropriate for outdoor novices who participate in regular fitness activity or routine. Participants should be comfortable with heights and able to hike 5 miles in one day through varied terrain.
