BRAVE Conversation #1: Guns On Campus

Join us for our first Brave Conversation of the year – a structured conversation led by trained student facilitators on the topic of Guns on Campus. All members of the University community are invited to join us for a free dinner and a respectful conversation where the goal is to understand one another – not to persuade, debate, or convince.

During the 2025 General Session, Utah State legislators changed the law governing firearms on campus. Individuals 18-years-old and older with a Utah concealed carry permit are now allowed to carry a weapon on campus. All residents over the age of 18 are permitted to keep a firearm in their dorm room. Students are allowed to request a room change if they do not wish to room with someone who keeps a firearm in their shared space. It’s never been more important for us to be able to speak productively with one another about this issue!
